Starlet tipped to make big Aberdeen impact
03:00 PM 10 June, 2009
16-year-old midfielder Fraser Fyvie has signed a two-year pro deal at Pittodrie.

"Fraser is a special talent and definitely one who we are confident will progress through the ranks very quickly," director of football Willie Miller told the Aberdeen website.

"If he continues to progress at the level he has done to date, he will be given every opportunity to demonstrate his considerable talent.

"I'm delighted to have him on board and convinced that in the not too distant future he'll go on to become a key member of the squad here."

Keiran, get a grip you idiot. The future of Aberdeen, especially in light of the imminent collapse of Setanta, is bringing talent through the youth ranks. Concentration on the youth ranks has produced marvelous talents over the years such as Scott Booth, Eoin Jess, Kev McNaughton, Russell Anderson and, more recently, Michael Paton and Pete Pawlett. It excites me to know that we're still concentrating heavily on youth, and to sign up one of the country's most promising youngsters on a pro-deal is something we should applaud the club for doing ... not lambaste because it's taken longer than 16.5 minutes to sign a manager. Incase it has escaped you, Celtic are still without a manager too!
