Plymouth Argyle full-back Jim Paterson is being lined up for a season-long loan switch to Pittodrie.

New Dons boss Mark McGhee told the Scottish Daily Express. "I have a good relationship with (Plymouth manager) Paul Sturrock and they could be willing to let Jim come up to the SPL.

"If that is the case, I would like to bring Jim to Aberdeen.

"I had him at Motherwell and he was one of our best players."
