The Dons are back in training and working hard under new manager Mark McGhee.

"We did some 2,000-metre runs and they were really tough," full-back Richard Foster said after getting his first taste of life under McGhee.

"It is probably the hardest thing I have done in pre-season.

"To do that on the second day was really tough. I think we are doing them again in Austria and hopefully I'll be able to improve my times."

Aberdeen will play 1860 Munich during their Austrian training camp and will hope to have at least one new signing on board for that, with midfielder Stephen Hughes a confirmed target.

McGhee may also take some trialists with him as he gets his side ready for an early start in Europe, with a Europa League qualifier before the end of July.
