Sunderland Football Club are planning an ambitious bid for Luis Suarez.

The Uruguay international is one of the hottest strikers in world football this season, with an incredible 26 Eredivisie goals in 25 appearances this season.

Suarez recently penned a one-year extension to his contract with Ajax, who are aware he has been monitored by the likes of Manchester United and AC Milan this term.

However, reports suggest Steve Bruce will make a whopping bid to lure the 23-year-old to the Stadium of Light in the summer, to team him up with Darren Bent.

This move would perhaps be best described as unlikely, particularly as Suarez would likely have the pick of UEFA Champions League clubs should he leave Amsterdam.
