Liverpool hope to steal Gunners target
12:00 PM 09 February, 2010
Liverpool Football Club remain keen on Marouane Chamakh.

The Morocco international is out of contract at Bordeaux in the summer, when he will leave the French champions on a Bosman free transfer and probably head to England.

Chamakh has revealed his first choice destination is Arsenal, and Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of the player having failed to persuade his club to sell last summer.

But The Sun claim Rafael Benitez is hoping to give the 26-year-old second thoughts by offering him a huge deal at Anfield, which could see him pocket £3million-per-year.
