Montolivo no longer an option for Arsenal
06:30 PM 03 September, 2010
Riccardo Montolivo doesn’t appear to be an option for Arsenal Football Club anytime soon.

Arsene Wenger was heavily linked with the Italian international in the summer, in the event he was to lose Cesc Fabregas to Barcelona during the window.

Of course, the Spanish midfielder remains at the Emirates Stadium, but whilst this resulted in the Gunners shelving their interest in Montolivo, they are said to be monitoring him this season.

However, reports in Italy claim the 25-year-old is no longer an option for Wenger, with Fiorentina.it claiming he is about to sign a new deal which will keep him with Viola until 2016.

I do not thnk we need this type of player when Cesc levaes next summer. As long as both Frimpong and Ramsey make full recovery from their injuries we will be stronger as we will have more depth! Song, Frimpong, Diaby, Ramsey, Denilson, Nasri, Wilshere, Lanasbury. Where we need to add is Defense and attacking wide midfielders...Tasci & V.der Weil in defense and Afellay & Hazard would be great addidtions. Sczcesny to be our new goalie and all is looking very, very promising!
