Barcelona have left their number four jersey vacant for Cesc Fabregas.

The Catalan giants were desperate to sign their former youth team player this summer, but there was no chance Arsene Wenger was going to sanction a sale.

However, reports now suggest Barca are confident of luring Fabregas at the end of the season, and have even reserved their number four jersey for the Arsenal captain.

Meanwhile, current Barca star Xavi, a close friend of the Gunners star, has been quoted as saying: "If the signing has not happened this year, it will happen next."
