Robin van Persie will not be joining Manchester City Football Club, claims his father.

The Holland international enjoyed a sensational season with Arsenal last term, but with his contract in its final 12 months, he has been linked with a summer exit.

Roberto Mancini would love to add van Persie to his squad during the summer, but the 28-year-old’s father has revealed such a move is impossible.

"He'd never go to Manchester City as it's impossible he would play for another Premier League side that wasn't Arsenal," Bob van Persie is quoted as saying by El Mundo Deportivo.
