Aston Villa Football Club have emerged as favourites to sign Robbie Keane in the summer.

The Republic of Ireland international had struggled to establish himself in the Tottenham Hotspur side earlier this season, and will end the campaign on loan at Celtic.

As much as the Bhoys would love to take Keane permanently, they accept they can’t afford the striker, who Harry Redknapp expects back at White Hart Lane next season.

However, according to the Mirror, Martin O’Neill is ready to launch a bid for the 29-year-old, with a figure of £9million being mooted as the potential fee.
