Paul Lambert is clearly delighted to be installed as the new Aston Villa manager.
The Scot has led Norwich City to successive promotions, and last season he ensured the Carrow Road club gave an impressive account of themselves in the Premier League.
This was enough for Villa to turn to Lambert as Alex McLeish’s successor, and now the former Canaries boss can’t wait to get cracking at the Midlands club.
"I'm honoured to be manager of the football club," said the 42-year-old. "I'll give it everything I've got. I'm delighted to be here. I can't wait to get going if truth be told.
“It's a huge club. I'm exciting by it. It's something I need to embrace more than anybody - the history it's got and the tradition. It's already won the European Cup.
“That speaks volumes for itself. It's won titles and it's got everything going for it. My job is to try and drive it on and that's what I'll try and do."
