League Two winger to land dream Aston Villa move
11:58 AM 01 February, 2009
Chris Humphrey is poised to sign for Champions League chasing Villa from Shrewsbury.

A source close to negotiations, told the Sunday Mercury: “Villa have scouted Humphrey in his last three games.

"He’s a Martin O’Neill player – English, young and very quick.

“They know that the compensation figure when his contract expires at the end of the season would not be too high, so they are talking about buying him now rather the facing competition in the summer.”

The 21-year-old is likely to be loaned straight back to Shrewsbury for the rest of the season where he will look to add to his 68 senior appearances.

All of what jack said is all untrue because when was the last time martin o'neill spent 10 mil on 1 player!!! he would get 3, 4, 5 players with that. For example he only spent £3.5 million on him! Bargain buy... Another lower league players he is also after one i no for sure is Leeds Utd midfeilder fabian delph he was at the game leicester V leeds watching him and the other player is Leicester's left back Joe mattock so i reckon he was coming to watch joe mattock aswell but he didnt play... you may this this is total crap but honestly it is genuine.

heard a couple of things. o'neill in for 8m cahill, 8m lennon, 10m jenas, 6m huddlestone and may hi-jack n'zogbia from wigan for 6.5m, also may go for 7m richards from man city but may be unlikely because of tal ben-haims departure. watch this space!
