Arsenal legend has sympathy for Fabregas
05:00 PM 18 July, 2010
Thierry Henry admits he wouldn’t like to be in Cesc Fabregas’ shoes, as the midfielder seeks to leave Arsenal Football Club for Barcelona this summer.

Henry left the Gunners for the Catalan giants in 2007, having previously spoken of his admiration for the Camp Nou club, and he spent three years there before recently joining the New York Red Bulls.

It’s a different scenario altogether for Fabregas, though, as he grew up in the Barca youth team before making the decision to head to England in the summer of 2003.

The Emirates Stadium skipper has revealed he wants to return to Catalonia during the summer window, yet Arsene Wenger continues to insist the player is not for sale.

Henry admits he has sympathy for the predicament Fabregas faces, and he admits he would understand it is the Spaniard returned him ahead of the new season.

“It is hard because the guy is from Barcelona. I wouldn't like to be in his shoes that's all I can say," Henry said. "I wouldn't like to be in his position because he is from there and he loves Arsenal.

“I don't know what to say about this, because I don't want to talk for him. But as an Arsenal fan, for me, I want him to stay at Arsenal, but I would also understand if he goes back home."

Good shout Sue. Has there ever been a player who has realy made it at Barcelona who came from Arsenal. Thierry Henry maybe.? Mark-O , Hleb , Peteet. All these players where on top of there game when they left Arsenal. None of them realy made it. Why would Cesc be any different. He has age on his side.? Cesc please look what has happend to Arsenal players in the past. Don't make the same mistake. You have loads of time on your side. Please wait the club is coming out of debt. Please give Mr Wengar some more time.?

HENRY, IT WILL DO YOU GOOD TO JUST TO KEEP QUIET!! YOU STARTED THIS BUSINESS OF JUST GOING OUT OF ARSENAL FOR NO REASON AND WHAT GOOD ADVICE CAN YOU GIVE TO FABREGAS??? PLEASE, FOCUS ON YOUR NEW YORK PRESENCE AND PERRSONALLY I WISH YOU LOTS OF FORTUNES! DO NOT PLAY THE DEVILS ADVOCATE. SO FAR THERE IS NOTHING YOU HAVE SAID BECAUSE YOU ARE NOT COMMITTED TO ANYTHING IN ADVISING FABREGAS IN THE WORDS YOU USED! THE BEST ADVICE WOULD BE YOU TELLING FABREGAS TO LEARN FROM YOU AND WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO YOU!! GUNNER FOR LIFE!!!!
