Heinz Muller has joined Bundesliga club FSV Mainz 05, newly promoted back to the top division in his homeland.

"It's a good deal for the club and for the player and we wish him well," Barnsley manager Simon Davey told his club's official website after raking in a healthy profit on the £150,000 signing from Lillestrom of Norway in 2007.

"Heinz has been given the opportunity to play in the German top flight and it was the right deal for Barnsley."
