Wigan Athletic Football Club are said to be in talks with Steve Gohouri.

The 28-year-old Ivory Coast international, who will not feature at the African Cup of Nations, is available on a free transfer having left Borussia Monchengladbach on December 23.

Gohouri has had a much-travelled career, having also played for six other clubs, including French side Paris St Germain, Italians Bologna, and Swiss outfit Young Boys.

A move to England could be his next port of call, having already spoken to Championship side Barnsley since his release from his former club.

However, The Mirror claim Gohouri could clinch a dream move to the Premier League, with Roberto Martinez wanting to add him to his DW Stadium squad.
