Christian Benitez hopes for a permanent move to Birmingham City Football Club.

The Ecuadorian international is on a season-long loan deal at St Andrews from Santos Laguna, with the view to a permanent £9million move in the summer.

Although he has scored just two Premier League goals in sixteen appearances the 23-year-old is a popular figure amongst Blues fans, and he hopes to earn a long stay with the club.

"I'm happy here. I can only concentrate on what I'm doing at the moment. If I'm asked to stay, I'd be very happy," Benitez, who likes to be known as Chucho, said.
