Allardyce fires Benni warning to Hammers
Sam Allardyce doesn’t expect Benni McCarthy to have a long career at West Ham United.
The 32-year-old South African is set to join the Hammers in a £2.5million deal, but Blackburn Rovers boss Allardyce has sent the Londoners a warning over teh striker.
“McCarthy is a hugely talented player who can play his best football in the final third," he said. "He's not getting any younger, so when you're not getting any younger the legs are not quite as good.
"He's generally the best he is when he first goes to any new club. When he came to Blackburn he scored 23 goals in his first year and hasn't quite replicated that since."
