McCarthy reveals Blackburn Rovers regret
Benni McCarthy regrets not having the chance to bid Blackburn Rovers fans farewell.
The South African international striker joined the Ewood Park club in the summer of 2006 from Porto, and he enjoyed a fine debut season in England.
McCarthy failed to repeat the success of the 2006/07 season, and he has now joined West Ham United having fallen down the pecking order under Sam Allardyce.
"I have no complaints about Blackburn. They did not play the kind of football that I wanted to play and so I couldn't play there," said the 32-year-old. "I never had a disagreement with the manager.
"I felt I served my time at Blackburn Rovers and I am sad that I never had the chance to say thanks to the fans as they have been brilliant to me."
