James Beattie is still a target for Blackburn Rovers Football Club.

The 32-year-old began his career at Ewood Park, before leaving for Southampton in 1999, and he has also starred for Everton, Sheffield United and now Stoke City.

Beattie played a huge role in keeping the Potters in the Premier League last season, but this term he has failed to rediscover his best form and was also involved in a huge bust-up with coach Tony Pulis.

He was been linked with a return to Rovers in the New Year, and although nothing materialised, the Daily Star claim Sam Allardyce will lodge an offer of £2million in the summer.
