Coyle challenges Bolton Wanderers defender
10:30 AM 03 February, 2010
Recently installed Bolton Wanderers Football Club manager, Owen Coyle, has tasked Zat Knight to prove he is one of the best defenders in the Premier League.

The 29-year-old has failed to live up to the early potential he showed when he burst onto the scene with Fulham, although he did win two England caps back in 2005.

A move to Aston Villa in 2007 resulted in two years in the Midlands before he signed for Bolton in the summer just gone, and he has wasted no time in impressing his new boss.

“He looks focused, looks like he wants to be the best he can be, and that’s the kind of player I like to work with,” Coyle told the Bolton News. “Zat has got everything in his locker to be a top, top player.

“What he has to do is do it consistently and that’s why players play for Chelsea and Manchester United— it’s because they do it week-in, week-out.

“There are players in the Premier League that you see on any given day and think, ‘wow, he’s outstanding.’ The nature of the top, top players is to do it game-in, game-out.”
