Coyle pleased with Bolton Wanderers performance
Owen Coyle felt his side were more than a match for Everton, until Alan Wiley intervened.
Bolton Wanderers were holding the Toffees to a goalless draw at Goodison Park, until the official sent Gretar Steinsson off for bringing down Yakubu deep into the second half.
The home side then took the initiative and picked up the three points, courtesy of a Mikel Arteta goal and a late strike from Steven Pienaar.
"Everton had won six in row prior to this, had carried all before them – Manchester United, Chelsea," Coyle told Sky Sports.
"And I felt we more than matched them for the duration of the game. Ultimately, the sending off was a big turning-point. There's no doubt about it."
