Bradford are keen on bringing Macclesfield striker Gareth Evans to Valley Parade.

Evans was Macc's leading scorer last season with 13 goals and is out of contract at Moss Rose.

He has been offered a new deal but is yet to sign.

Bradford boss Stuart McCall told the Telegraph & Argus, "We've made an inquiry but at the moment nothing will be happening because of the fee Macclesfield are after."

"We know we've got a good goalscorer in Peter Thorne and now it's about finding the right one alongside him. If we manage to bring in a young one up front, they can only learn from Pete."
