Gary Johnson is being linked with a deal to sign Motherwell striker David Clarkson.

With one year left on his current contract, the 23-year-old may be allowed to leave if a club matches Motherwell's valuation of £600,000.

Clarkson has spent his entire career to date at Fir Park, netting 49 league goals, including 13 last season.

Colchester winger Mark Yeates meanwhile, linked with City earlier in the summer, looks set for a move to Middlesbrough after the two clubs agreed a fee.
