No £750K swoop but Huddersfield happy with signings
Chairman Dean Hoyle's budget does not stretch to signing Bristol Rovers striker Rickie Lambert but with five new faces already on board he is optimistic about the coming season at the Galpharm.
Quoted in the Huddersfield Daily Examiner about Lambert, Hoyle ruled out a move for the player as his age would prevent him having a resale value, a gamble the Terriers cannot afford to take on a player who would cost £750,000 in a transfer fee alone.
With Theo Robinson, Antony Kay, Robbie Simpson, Peter Clarke and Lee Peltier arriving at the club this summer however, Hoyle added: "We're more than happy with the quality we've added."
Fans' first chance to see the new-look Town in action comes this weekend with friendlies against Gateshead and Wakefield.
