David Nugent has returned to Burnley Football Club.

The England international cap spent the first half of the season on loan at the Clarets, but he returned to parent club Portsmouth last month.

Nugent has now returned to Turf Moor for a second spell on loan, and he will now see the season out with Brian Laws’ Premier League strugglers.

The Lancastrians are now in the bottom three of the top-flight, with all their good early season work, including a win over Manchester United, seeming a lifetime ago.
