Brian Laws was proud of his Burnley Football Club players at the DW Stadium, despite another heartbreaking defeat.
The Clarets were on the way to a goalless draw at Wigan Athletic, only for a last-gasp Hugo Rodallega goal breaking their resolve and keeping them three points adrift of safety.
"I've got to lift the players up now but, as a manager, I'm certainly lifted by their spirit and determination," Laws told Sky Sports. "I thought we were outstanding.
“The players were magnificent and did everything asked of them today. They stuck to the game plan, they worked hard, the got behind the ball. They did everything they possibly could.
“We could have gone on to win it. If we continue like that we're going to start winning games. They do say football can be cruel at times and that's probably as cruel as it's been for this football club.”
