Burton have bolstered their ranks with the double signing of Nathan Stanton and James Ellison.

Stanton has joined Burton on a two-year deal after turning down Rochdale's offer of a one-year contract extension.

Central defender Stanton revealed Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido played a big part in his decision to leave Spotland.

"The manager here impressed me a lot," said Stanton.

"The facilities here are second to none and that was a major factor in me deciding to come here. I am very pleased to be here.

"I am 29 now and I was looking for a two-year deal and they could not offer me that so I thought it was time for me to move on. I have had four great seasons there and I felt it was time for a new challenge."

Former Liverpool striker Ellison has also inked a two-year deal after leaving Anfield and he is relishing the prospect of playing regular first-team football.

"This is a good opportunity for me," Ellison told the club's official website.

"I think at this age now I need to be getting some first-team experience under my belt. I just want to show people what I can do and hopefully get recognised.

"It was very difficult decision to leave the club I have supported since I was a boy but I realise now that it is the best decision I could have made."
