West Bromwich Albion are interested in Peter Whittingham.

Steve Clarke has landed his first job as a number one manager, following successful stints as an assistant for the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool.

The new Baggies boss is determined to build on the progress made by Roy Hodgson last season, and he has been told he has cash to spend in the summer.

Clarke is believed to be lining up an offer for Cardiff City midfielder Whittingham, who is in the final year of his contract and could be available for £4million.
