Celtic can’t afford permanent Keane deal
Tony Mowbray admits Celtic Football Club just can’t afford Robbie Keane.
The Tottenham Hotspur striker is currently on loan at Parkhead, and his four goals in six SPL games is making him a favourite with the fans of the Scottish giants.
There is sure to be calls for the Hoops to bid for Keane on a permanent basis in the summer, but Mowbray insists they just can’t afford a player Spurs paid £12million for last January.
“Football is very much about finance these days and Robbie is way out of our structure. He cost them £12million,” he said. “I don't think our board are going to loosen the purse strings that much.”
