Lloyd Sam has dismissed reports he is set to join Newcastle United Football Club.

The Magpies are said to have had the 25-year-old winger watched on a number of occasions this season, with the view to a transfer in the New Year.

Sam is out of contract at Charlton Athletic in the summer and the League One club may choose to sell him in January, but the player has shrugged off the speculation of a move to St James.

“I'm just playing football and trying to get promoted. I'm happy at Charlton. I've been here 10 years, I'm happy and I've got a relationship with the fans,” he told the official club site.
