Forster signs for Brentford
09:23 AM 17 June, 2010
Veteran striker Nicky Forster has signed for Brentford for the second time in his career after agreeing a two-year contract to join from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Forster scored 47 goals during a two-and-a-half year spell at Griffin Park in the mid-1990s and has now accepted a return to the club.

The 36-year-old spent the end of last season on loan at Charlton Athletic and Bees boss Andy Scott is delighted to win the race for a forward of Forster's calibre.

"I'm delighted to be able to complete Nicky's signing as he's a player who we watched regularly for the last few months of last season and beat a number of other teams to his signature," Scott told the club's official website.

"His goalscoring record is without doubt a major attraction as that was one area in which we struggled to compete with other teams in the top 10.

"He is a very focused, dedicated footballer who will add experience, competition and more importantly goals to the team and I'm very pleased that he will be pulling on a Brentford shirt once again."

Forster commented: "I'm absolutely delighted to be coming back to Brentford as it holds many good and happy memories, and continues to hold a special place for me during my career.

"Both the club and I have moved on over the years, but I still have the hunger and mobility to give a good account of myself and help achieve and maintain the high standards Andy Scott has set for the club."
