Middlesbrough Football Club are set to win the race for Nicky Bailey.

The 26-year-old Charlton Athletic skipper is set to leave the Valley this summer, following their failure to secure promotion to the Championship last season.

A number of clubs, including League One champions Norwich City and Scottish giants Celtic, have been linked with the midfielder, but BBC Sport claim Boro will win the race.

It is believed Gordon Strachan’s side will pay a fee in the region of £1.4million for Bailey, who has made 95 appearances for the Addicks since his arrival in August 2008.
