Nicky Weaver knows that Charlton Athletic will turn to Rob Elliot in League One next season.

Elliot has usurped Weaver for the goalkeeping jersey recently and the 30-year-old former Manchester City man said: "Rob's done really well, he deserves to be playing and I've not got a problem with it - that's how football goes.

"Now I find myself in a bit of a strange position. I'm out of contract in the summer, like some of the other players, and obviously the club have started looking to the future.

"Rob is one for the future whereas I'm probably not.

"I imagine my future lies elsewhere, but you never know."
