Lloyd James has rejected a new contract at Colchester United.

The 24-year-old is set to become a free agent at the end of the month, but the U’s are willing to extend his stay at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.

However, James appears to be weighing up his options ahead of the new season, and has rejected an offer of a new deal at the League One club.

The midfielder spent time on loan at Crawley Town towards the end of last term, and could be keen on linking up with them following their promotion.
