Kieran Westwood insists he will not be distracted by speculation linking him with Everton.

The Toffees have been heavily linked with the 24-year-old goalkeeper, who is currently plying his trade with Coventry City in the Championship.

Despite the talk of a January move to Goodison Park, the former Manchester City youngster insists he remains fully focused on the job in hand at the Ricoh Arena.

“I take it as a compliment. I know I am only 24 but I feel I am quite experienced because I have played nearly 250 games,” said Westwood.

“I have got into this position by working hard, doing the basics right and not getting too ahead of myself. So I can’t see me getting too big for my boots now.

“If Everton are going to do something, they are going to do something. It is out of my hands. I can only play as well as I can and as long as I am doing well for the team, then I am happy.”
