Aston Villa Football Club have been linked with Kieran Westwood.

Martin O’Neill appears keen to sign a new goalkeeper in the New Year, although he already has American duo Brad Friedel and Brad Guzan at his disposal.

It looks as though Sunderland are not prepared to offload first target Marton Fulop, and reports suggest Villa have turned their attentions to Westwood.

The 25-year-old Republic of Ireland shot-stopper is currently contracted to Coventry City in the Championship, and is rated in the £3million bracket.
