Coventry City retain Gael hope
02:30 PM 30 May, 2012
Coventry City Football Club hope to keep hold of Gael Bigirimana.

The 18-year-old burst onto the first team scene at the Ricoh Arena last season, and is widely thought to be a target for Premier League side Newcastle United.

Whilst relegation to League One could make it difficult for the Sky Blues to keep hold of Bigirimana, manager Andy Thorn is still hopeful of retaining the midfielder.

“Gael's a good talent but he's still got a heck of a lot to learn and I'd be really disappointed if he left,” the City manager told the Coventry Telegraph.

"He's in there and very much part of my plans and I'd love to see him continue his development with us. I think it's really important at his age that he's playing competitive football.”
