Gudjon Thordarson is hopeful of signing Marlon Broomes and Dennis Lawrence after they impressed on loan at Gresty Road last season.

The players have not been offered new deals by their respective clubs Blackpool and Swansea and Thordarson is keen on them returning.

Thordarson told the club's official website: "Marlon and Dennis did well for me last season and they are very much in my mind."

"Much will depend on the finances and bringing them together. It will have to be the right deal and these things can take time because managers are after the best deals for their clubs and the players are waiting for the right deal for themselves and their family.

"It is never easy but there has to be a mutual respect there and I am sure when it comes to dealing with Marlon and Dennis it will be dealt with in a professional manner."
