Crewe Alexandra Football Club could offer Billy Bodin a permanent transfer.
The 20-year-old made nine appearances for the League One side in their successful promotion campaign last season, but has since returned to Swindon Town.
Bodin, though, has rejected a new contract with the Robins, who would still be entitled to a fee if he leaves the club this summer due to his age.
Alex boss Steve Davis admits he is keen to offer the winger a permanent move to Gresty Road, with the future of Byron Moore up in the air.
"Billy has a lot of potential and he will only improve the talent he has. I think if we could get him here then we would bring that out of him,” he told the official club site.
"He is very much in the Crewe mould and could be the ideal replacement if we cannot come to an arrangement with Byron. He can play on both wings and behind the front man as well."
