Chris Porters hopes to be back in contention at Derby County Football Club in December.

The summer signing underwent an operation on his injured hip in August, and he hopes to be available for the Championship side in around eight weeks time.

"Things are going well, I'm pleased with how everything has gone and I'm getting there slowly but surely," Porter told the Rams official site. "Although I feel like I could run now, I know I can't just yet.

"It was getting to me because I couldn't drive and I had to rely on people all the time for lifts but I can see light at the end of the tunnel now as I'm about halfway or just past it.

"I haven't got a date set for a return, but I've said before the start of December is when I'm aiming to be in and around being able to get back to playing."
