Derby County Football Club are still hopeful of signing James Vaughan.

The 22-year-old joined the Pride Park outfit on loan in September 2009, but a knee injury cut his time with the Championship club short and he returned to Everton.

Vaughan headed to Leicester City when he regained his fitness, but as the Toffees look to loan him out again, he could be heading back to Derby this summer.

"We are still trying to get a striker in and we are still talking to people about that," said Rams boss Nigel Clough. "There are a few who interest us and James is one of them."
