Derby County Football Club have confirmed their interest in Michael Jacobs.

The 20-year-old has come through the youth ranks at Northampton Town, but he will become a free agent when his contract expires in the summer.

A number of clubs have been linked with Jacobs, and whilst Nigel Clough has confirmed his liking for the midfielder, the Rams boss insists no move has yet been made.

“We are certainly aware of him (Jacobs) but no bid has been made," he told the Derby Telegraph. "I am sure he might have the pick of a few clubs, so we will see how it goes.”
