The Toffees have cash to spend now they have sold Jack Rodwell, who joined Manchester City in a shock £15million transfer on Sunday.

David Moyes wants to make at least one new signing before the start of the season, and he has set his sights on Blackpool wing ace Phillips.

The 21-year-old is rated as one of the best talents in the country outside of the Premier League, and the Merseyside club hope to take him for £4million.
