Falkirk delight at beating the drop
Falkirk's 1-0 win on Saturday over Inverness ensured their SPL survival at the expense of Caley.
Falkirk had a second-half strike from Michael Higdon to thank for the win as Inverness were hampered by the 39th minute sending-off of Ross Tokely.
Falkirk boss John Hughes had sympathy for his oppsite number Terry Butcher.
said: "My commiserations go to Inverness. I really feel for them as it is a wonderful club.
"I always enjoy coming up here. It is a wonderful part of the world and a very well-run club.
"It is not a nice way to win when you play against 10 men and my heart goes out to Ross Tokely, who has been a great servant to his club over the years.
"You feel like you may have won by default but then I put my Falkirk hat on and remember that we still had to go out there and win the match."
The Bairns now have a Homecoming Scottish Cup final against Rangers to look forward to next weekend.
Hughes added, "It hasn't half turned into a right good season for Falkirk Football Club. We got to the semi-final of the League Cup, we still have a chance of winning the Scottish Cup and we have finished 10th in the SPL."
With us going on all these cup runs, I'd like to think that next season the money will go back into the budget so we can keep these players.
"All credit to the lads as there are 14 players in my squad that don't know whether or not they will be here next year. We have a lot of work to do in the next couple of weeks."
