Eddie May is expected to be confirmed as the new Falkirk manager following John Hughes departure to Hibs.

The 41-year-old is currently the Bairns' youth team coach and is thought to have Steven Pressley and Alex Smith as part of his managerial team.

Striker Mark Stewart told the Daily Record, "Eddie is a brilliant guy and helped us a lot coming through the youth ranks. He is a good manager, he taught me a lot and if it's true he is getting the job it's good news."

Smith, 69, is the chairman of the Scottish Managers and Coaches Association. He left Ross County in 2005.
