Nicky Shorey has thanked Martin O’Neill for letting him join Fulham Football Club.

The 28-year-old England international found himself out of favour at Aston Villa this season, and he was loaned out to Nottingham Forest in the Championship earlier this term.

Shorey then returned to the Midlands club, but with his chances of first team football still limited, O’Neill has agreed to loan him out to the Craven Cottage club.

“I can’t thank Martin enough for the opportunity to get first team action in the Premier League,” he said. “I am keen to show everyone I have the quality to play in the top flight.”
