Adrian Forbes, impressive on loan from Millwall last season, is now a permanent member of the Mariners squad.

"It's taken a long time and I was hoping to have got something sorted sooner rather than later," the 30-year-old told BBC Radio Humberside.

"In the end it's taken the whole of the summer but it's done now."
