Hibs star wants Celtic to revive move
09:00 PM 09 June, 2009
Steven Fletcher is hoping that Tony Mowbray's imminent arrival as Bhoys boss will see a possible move to Glasgow back on the agenda.

A target for Gordon Strachan in January, the Scotland striker remained at Hibernian after a bid for his services was turned down.

Now, with his former Easter Road manager Mowbray set to succeed Strachan, Fletcher has said: "I want to push myself to further my career and if that means moving on from Hibs, then so be it.

"If I'm good enough, then happy days. If I'm not, then we'll see what happens."

He added: "Tony was a big help for me. I was just breaking through at Hibs when he was there and he knew when to play me and when I needed a rest.

"He was a massive influence on my career, not just as a manager, but as a friend, too.

"I was just a young boy and it was a bit daunting going into the first-team dressing room, but he was great."

Yeah i know. I was just thinking about Derek Riordan though. Its a pity they don't raid Pittodrie aswell. It would get rid of the likes of Mackie who cant score but still found himself starting most games and Considine who couldn't defend against a ten year old (just a guess) Im hoping aberdeens two future signings are Dean Windass and Craig Brewster. (Both in there 40's, i think.Yet could still tally up more goals than the rest of the strikers.

Aberdeen fan here. Sort of hope Fletcher stays at Hibs as hes a great player and he'll just go to Celtic, sit on the bench for two years then return to Hibs. Will Aberdeen ever get a manager again?(Happy Calderwood left though)
