Hull City Football Club are hopeful Anthony Gardner will play again this season.
Gardner suffered ankle ligament damage in the 3-0 loss at West Ham United a fortnight ago, and although he faces a spell out of action, City hope he will return towards the end of the campaign.
“There was no damage to the bone," said manager Phil Brown. "It's ligament trouble, so that will probably be five to six weeks (on the sidelines) and then we'll assess things.
"Who knows? Anthony could still have a big part to play in the end of season games, looking namely at the likes of Sunderland, Wigan Athletic and Liverpool."
