Nicky Barmby hopes to extend his stay at Hull City Football Club.

The 36-year-old has been with his local club since 2004, and with his current deal set to expire at the end of the season, he has revealed he hopes a new contract is in the offing.

“You want to play as long as you can," Barmby told the Hull Daily Mail. "Your body will dictate that but I'll be the first to hold my hands up when the time comes and I think I can't play at this level.

"At the moment I think I can and it's a great challenge for me to play at the highest level so late in my career. I feel as though I can play another year but that decision is ultimately down to the club."
