Leeds United Football Club insist Jermaine Beckford is not for sale.

Although the 25-year-old is out of contract in the summer, Whites manager Simon Grayson insists the striker won’t leave whilst the club fight for promotion from League One.

"The chairman has promised he'll go on supporting my decision from the summer that Jermaine will stay until the end of the season no matter what," said Grayson.

"The January window will make no difference. If he leaves on a free after winning us promotion then that's our sole aim - if he decides to sign a new deal, then so much the better."

This will come as a blow for Newcastle United manager Chris Hughton, who wanted to sign Beckford to boost the Magpies promotion push to the Premier League.
